It is a wonderful experience being able to positively impact someone else's life by advising them on the status of their immigration cases. Though we did not offer legal advice we still learned the basic ropes of immigration law in a way that no law firm can offer. It felt like I was immersed into 15 minute phone calls with people I had known my whole life. It was a transformational experience being so close, yet so far from immigrant detainees who sought nothing more than a peaceful life. ”
