Assistant/Analyst, Project Delivery Unit

Position Mandate:
The Project Assistant/Analyst will provide administrative, financial, logistical, and technical support to projects within the Project Delivery Unit (PDU). This will include the support of project management efforts and technical implementation with an aim of delivering excellence to clients. This is a full-time position reporting to a Manager or Senior Manager in the PDU.

Candidates can be hired as either a Project Assistant or Analyst, depending on which level of qualifications they meet, as described below.

The Project Assistant/Analyst will support the day-to-day management and implementation of USAID and/or Department of State-funded aspects of client relationship management, working closely with clients and partners to plan, implement, and troubleshoot issues that arise during project implementation. The Project Assistant will also work closely with both the PDU and Sector Teams to ensure technical excellence is an integral part of project delivery. A matrixed, and integrated relationship with the Sector Teams will enable the Assistant to receive technical guidance and mentoring from Sector Team Directors on Resonance’s technical best practices. S/he will establish ongoing communication and collaboration with the relevant members of the Sector teams to ensure technical alignment across project activities. They may also support billable tasks on Resonance’s commercial team, as appropriate.  

This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC or Burlington, VT.

Responsibilities:
Assistant
·         Maintain & update project financial management tools
·         Generate project budget reports for Resonance decision-makers
·         Draft, submit, manage and track client approvals 
·         Draft effective and accurate communications to clients and partners
·         Review and submit consultant invoices, draft communications to project personnel, assist with recruitment documentation
·         Liaise with consultants to plan travel, generate consulting agreements, and complete expense reports
·         Maintain, update, and improve company databases, including SharePoint, document retention systems, and knowledge management tools
·         Support technical research tasks to ensure activity execution
·         Provide support to technical leads in data collection, analysis, synthesis, and communication
·         Draft general project correspondence, approvals, reports, web-site updates, presentations, and other miscellaneous documents
·         Provide project support to the commercial team, as appropriate and as the opportunity arises
·         Provide ad-hoc business development support, as needed
·         Other tasks as needed

Analyst 
·         Contribute to the design, implementation, and monitoring of donor-funded projects (primarily USAID)
·         Support short-term technical, research, and project management assignments virtually or in the field, as required and appropriate. This may include contributing to and/or participate in assessments, research/analysis, field interviews, curricula development for training, and evaluations.
·         Track and analyze project financials utilizing Resonance’s internal financial management tools
·         Work closely with team members to develop, manage, and track portfolio project budgets in accordance with contract requirements, managing smaller contracts under supervision of the Senior Manager, Manager, and/or Managing Director
·         Develop scopes of work and staff position descriptions, prepare activity reports and other deliverables, and support the recruiting and fielding of project staff and consultants
·         Collaborate with Project Operations team and other members of the project management unit to design and implement project management process improvements, as needed
·         Support technical services by collaborating with the Technical Services, Sector, and Commercial Teams and across the PDU for technical assignments, guidance and mentorship, and mobilizing technical resources to provide niche expertise
·         Support project communications, including website content, articles, success stories, blog posts, etc.
·         Provide project support to the commercial team, as appropriate and as the opportunity arises
·         Provide limited ad-hoc business development efforts, based on need
·         Other tasks as needed

Qualifications:
Assistant:
·        Bachelor’s degree in a related field
·        0 – 2 years of professional experience, preferably in a management consulting and/or global development context
·        Proven capability in research and/or analytical work
·        Outstanding written and oral communications skills
·        Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and OSX applications
·        Understanding of and demonstrated passion for global development
·        Proficiency in French or other foreign language preferred

Analyst:
·         Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and/or Development, Economics, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other relevant field
·         2+ years of professional experience, preferably in a management consulting and/or global development context
·         Proven capability in research, quantitative analysis, and project administration and coordination
·         Outstanding written and oral communications skills
·         Technical experience in one or more of the following areas: private sector engagement, innovation, enterprise development, innovative finance, partnership development, natural resource management, economic growth, or monitoring, evaluation, and learning
·         Proficiency in French or other foreign language preferred

Anticipated Salary Range:
Assistant: $45,000 to 55,000
Analyst: $52,000 to 62,000
Salary ranges reflect prevailing market conditions and required levels of education and experience for each position.
