2021 Summer Presidential Transition Intern

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

If you have a strong interest in multiple teams, you may indicate your alternate team preferences later in the application. Please note that selecting multiple teams does not increase your likelihood of being selected for an internship. 
  
POSITION OVERVIEW  
The Center for Presidential Transition helps presidential candidates and their transition teams, second-term administrations and federal agencies navigate the transition process and ensure our president will be ready to govern.
Center interns will play an important part in supporting lessons learned activities for post-inauguration in 2021. These interns support events that educate leaders in government and members of the public about presidential transition, conduct in-depth research on transition-related issues and assist with program administration.
The Center offers interns an opportunity to contribute to a historic process while learning more about the federal government and developing expertise in a niche subject area. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail and time management skills. Additionally, the ideal candidates will proactively take initiative, be able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing work environment and commit to serving in a nonpartisan manner.
REPORTING STRUCTURE  
This position typically reports to a manager or associate manager.  
  
WORK ENVIRONMENT  
This job operates in a professional office environment in Washington, DC. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer and scanner. Please note that as a result of COVID-19, Partnership staff are currently working remotely. 

  
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK  
Business hours are Monday-Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, though exact work hours may vary depending on availability and need. Academic schedules will be accommodated; a part-time schedule may be considered. There may be occasional early morning or evening activities required.
  
TRAVEL  
If travel occurs, it is local and during the business day.
