Curatorial Production (Film) Intern

The Curatorial Production (film) Internship is designed to provide advanced students (seniors and graduate students) and recent graduates (within a year) in the arts, film, and theater the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by assisting in the production of a feature-length film cast and shot in Omaha by an international artist August 1 – September 30, 2021.


Responsibilities


  • Gain insight into the daily practice of a professional contemporary art curator working internationally working alongside Bemis Center's Curator-in-Residence
  • Become acquainted with several aspects of curatorial production of performance and films projects-working with the artist, the cast of 6 actors, and the film and sound crew as well as set and costume maintenance
  • Collaborate on a meaningful, engaging project–take part in meetings, workshops, public programs, studio visits, and offsite visits to arts and cultural institutions


Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college degree program or a recent college graduate (within six months)
  • A passion for contemporary art and an eagerness to learn
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, ability to work without much supervision, and strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform varying levels of clerical and/or physical work


Time Commitment

10 hours per week, mostly evenings and weekends (August 1–September 17)
20 hours per week (week of September 18–September 24)
