Summer 2021 Acquisitions and Marketing Intern

Content Team: The Content department handles all aspects of the acquisitions process including screening content, script coverage, establishing relationships with filmmakers and producers, as well as negotiating various types of distribution deals across all forms of media. The Content team is the true gateway between the creative and business sides of the industry.
 
Marketing Team: The Marketing department is responsible for raising awareness for the company’s new releases, library of film and branded channels DUST and ALTER. This includes creating marketing assets, managing media campaigns, publicity, sales and merchandising. The Marketing team is how G&S communicates with its fans and viewers.
 
What to Expect:

  • Learn how to track upcoming and completed projects through news, festivals, and relationships
  • Learn how to identify content that matches target audiences and company brand
  • Help perform both script and film coverage for potential development and acquisitions 
  • Engage in media and grassroots outreach
  • Research up-and-coming outlets and platforms
  • Develop press breaks and track film awareness
  • Participate in the development of film synopses and videos for promotional use
  • Track social media platforms
  • Learn to pitch content on a B2B level by studying and promoting our catalogue
  • Monthly intern talks where interns can learn about various departments via executives
 
Program Requirements:

  • All interns must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who are able to receive academic credit for their internship
  • All interns will be working remotely and must have access to a computer and internet
  • You must bring a passion for film or the film industry
  • Written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail, Microsoft Office skills are crucial
  • A strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to learning
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve easily
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
 
Specific Skills Required:

  • Ability to think critically about all forms of media and the confidence to express and defend your opinions and analysis
  • Ability to manage and research projects with an attention to detail
  • Understanding of relevant social media platforms i.e. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) experience recommended, but not mandatory
