Public Relations Account Executive Specializing in Healthcare

 Public Communications Inc. (PCI) seeks an experienced and passionate public relations account executive who wants to make a substantial contribution to our agency in the healthcare sector. This individual will manage high-profile healthcare accounts and projects to build client strategies, communications positioning and storytelling efforts around public and professional awareness initiatives, patient education, advocacy work and physician communications. The healthcare industry is evolving and dynamic, and this position requires enthusiasm, knowledge and proficiency in healthcare communications.

In this role, you will:

  • Play a critical role in communications programs for clients in healthcare, helping clients navigate a constantly shifting landscape to advance their marketing, communications and public relations initiatives and meet their business objectives.
  • Identify newsworthy opportunities to share client stories; and craft compelling materials that can be used by clients through a variety of channels to elevate their storytelling.
  • Commit to continual learning and improvement of leadership skills by participating in professional development and setting and exceeding annual goals.
  • Earn the respect of our clients by delivering smart, creative and pragmatic solutions while collaborating with our team of senior counselors and leading a team of communications strategists to drive successful results.
 
Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related coursework. Advanced degree/coursework welcome.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of professional public relations or communications experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Previous experience working in-house in corporate communications in the healthcare industry or at a public relations agency.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the constantly changing healthcare landscape and the relevant issues impacting organizations and businesses in the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in national media relations to drive earned placements.
  • Understand social media and digital communications, including how to integrate these tactics with earned media campaigns.

Physical requirements include: good speaking, hearing, vision ability and excellent manual dexterity. Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
 
Working conditions:

Day-to-day work is currently performed virtually but may require work in our offices or onsite client visits. This is a full-time position. May require some weekend and evening work.
