EDUCATION INTERNSHIP

Reports to: Senior Manager of Learning and Engagement
Pay category: Unpaid
Required hours: 15-20 hours per week (2-3 days per week)

Overview of responsibilities:

  • Assist in the research and creation of virtual field trips and videos for school audiences
  • Learn about outsider art and how to teach from works of art
  • Provide support for online public programs for adults, educators, and teens
  • Provide general support to education staff
  • Interact with staff, board members, volunteers, interns, curators, artists, lenders, vendors, museum visitors, and other constituents through written and verbal communications on a regular basis

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Strong interest in teaching and learning in museums
  • Experience in working with the public through teaching, public speaking or customer service
  • Experience with art and art-making is a plus
  • Comfort with online learning tools and eagerness to learn new platforms (Zoom, GSuite, YouTube, Slack)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • High level of professionalism
