Associate Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media (SM) team is composed of the agency’s subject matter experts. This team manages all social media accounts (inclusive of organic, community management, community engagement, reporting, influencers, etc.) and provides strategic counsel as needed to other departments. 

As an Associate Social Media Coordinator (ASMC), you will be exposed to broad-based digital marketing tactics that will help enrich your understanding of our industry. The ASMC may handle multiple social media projects (1-5) at one time while supporting the SM team with content and basic strategy development. They may also work with other Elasticity disciplines (e.g. paid media and creative) to help ensure their projects are adhering to the KPIs set forth in the statement of work in the most efficient way possible. 

You must possess an eagerness to learn how to see the ‘big picture across online and offline channels. The ASMC will report to the Director of Social Media and is accountable to the Account Manager based on the assigned project(s).

An Associate Social Media Coordinator is not expected to be an expert in social media and will learn as you go from seasoned industry veterans. These veterans have all been in your shoes before and are focused on helping you develop your career.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research audience preferences and discover trending behaviors.
  • Create engaging posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
  • Educate co-workers on how to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way.
  • Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries.
  • Report monthly on account performance and opportunities for growth. 
  • Develop and execute an optimal posting schedule and customer engagement metrics.
  • Oversee social media accounts updates and account layout.
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like digital promotions and platform-specific giveaways.
  • Assist in other activities within the agency (as needed).

Primary Interactions

  •  As needed, interactions with SM Coordinator and higher levels and Account Manager.
 
Required Qualifications

  • Agency experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of social media marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Developing knowledge of online marketing and a basic understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Generate and submit for approval engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news).
  • Communicate creative specs to the Creative team and oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook header image/video, profile pictures and blog layout).
  • Knowledge of influencer marketings and its role in building brands. 
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Process-oriented with the aim of creating efficiencies.
  • You live and breathe social and are obsessed with trends and culture.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Team player who actively engages and helps when needed.
  • Fluency in English (bilingual a plus).
  • Availability to work between the hours of 8:30 AM CST - 10:00 PM CST during the week, at least 1 weekend day per week and select holidays (rotated between team members).
