Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist at The Family Partnership

 JOB SUMMARY: The Pediatric Speech-Language Therapist will provide high quality evidence based pediatric Speech-Language evaluation and treatment to 2-6 year old students at various PICA Head start preschools in the Minneapolis area. Therapy services provided will be in the context of PICA HeadStart classrooms. The therapist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team from PICA, The Family Partnership and other agencies including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Play Therapists, Special Education teams, classroom teachers, Family advocates, parents and physicians.
 
This is a part-time position that is eligible to become a regular, benefits eligible position in the future. This position offers flexible morning scheduling between 8:00 and 12:00pm, Monday-Friday. Candidate must be available to work these hours to accommodate preschoolers who attend HeadStart on specific days.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
·      Select, administer, score, interpret and document appropriate standardized pediatric assessments for Speech, Language and Feeding concerns.
·      Provide quality, evidence based, efficacious speech therapy services within ASHA and The Family Partnership standards
·      Document plans of care and daily progress in a timely and suitable manner in accordance with ASHA, DHS and MDH guidelines.
·      Manage and maintain physician orders, insurance authorizations to keep all clients current
·      Submit daily billing and progress notes through the EMR system
·      Consult and collaborate inter-disciplinary staff and parents
·      Discharge clients when they exit the program or meet maximal therapeutic potential
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Licensed Speech Language Pathologist and at least 2 years pediatric experience, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
·      Must have comfort level working with at risk clients, clients who have experienced trauma, clients from diverse cultures/ethnicities and clients from non-English speaking households.
·      Current CPR/First aid certified (preferred)
Good communication and organizational skills
·      Flexible and adaptable
Licenses and Certifications:
·      Valid MN Drivers’ License, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet TFP’s driving record requirements.
·      Department of Human Services certification (required)
·      ASHA certification (preferred)
