A Family Habilitation/Visitation Specialist assists families in need who are involved in the child welfare system. Responsibilities include supervising parent/child visitations, transportation of foster children to and from visits and appointments, parent coaching during family visitations, supporting clients in accessing community resources, teaching parenting techniques on a one on one basis, and role modeling positive behavior. Important qualities to possess to thrive in this job: good writing skills, works well independently and strong people skills.
Requirements include:
- High school diploma
- Must have a valid driver's license, three years driving experience, clean driving record, insurance and reliable transportation
- Availability to work 20-30 hours per week, including weekend availability
- Must pass DCFS background check
