Ticket Office Service Associate

Under general supervision, The Ticket Office Service Associate sells event tickets and select other products, provides event and facility information, and performs related clerical tasks associated with the Ticket Office in accordance with established procedures, methods, and routines. Work involves extensive public contact in person, by telephone, and via online chat, exemplary customer service, emphasis on sales, and working cooperatively with other cashiers to ensure that customer needs are being met. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To successfully perform this job, the individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Sells tickets directly to the general public at ticket office windows and via telephone, computer, and mail orders. Work is performed using a computerized ticketing system and involves cash handling, credit card charges, and receipt of bank checks.
2. Works with promoters and resident tenants on ticket exchanges, comps, season tickets, and special promotions.
3. Answers questions concerning event and ticket information, patron services, and amenities for multiple theaters and events. Processes lost ticket reprint requests, checks sales records for patrons, and assists them with mobile ticket issues.
4. Performs box office-related data entry, filing, and messenger service activities. Monitors office supplies and performs general clerical and other office duties as assigned. Maintains work areas, cleans ticket windows, assists in the mailing of tickets, etc.
5. Assists in training and answering questions of hourly cashiers. 
6. Performs related work as assigned, including performing with an emphasis on sales (up-selling, cross-selling, donations, and subscription sales).

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform this job.
Education:
High school diploma/GED
Experience:
0-2 years relevant training and/or experience
2 years directly-related cashiering and customer service experience utilizing a computerized workstation preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of general sales and cash handling techniques and related clerical principles and office practices
Attention to detail
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with patrons, clients, and other visitors and users of Overture Center
Ability to work under time pressure and stressful conditions and follow oral and written directions
Ability to work in a team environment and develop and maintain effective working relationships 

Physical Effort and Working Conditions

The requirements and conditions described below are representative of the general environment the employee is exposed to on a day-to-day basis while performing this job.
Manual Dexterity:
Must be able to operate a computer and telephone, and have sufficient dexterity to count and handle cash transactions
Physical Effort:
Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day
Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, cash drawer, credit card machine
Working Conditions:
Required to work on a computer 5-7 hours per day
