Under general supervision, the Graphic Designer performs professional graphic design for Overture Center. The work involves a wide variety of activities including conception, planning, coordinating, designing, producing, and implementing design for advertising and promotional campaigns and materials for performing arts events and general institutional development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Concepts, designs, lays out, typesets, illustrates, and edits print and digital materials using existing and evolving brand guidelines, which maintain a high-quality image for Overture Center. Collaborates with internal and external partners and agencies.
2. Collaborates on project management from intake to completion for assigned tasks. Uses project management software to track design progress. Assists with sourcing imagery for design ideas from online archives and show marketing websites.
3. Assures accuracy of ad content, layout, typesets, and proofreads.
4. Maintains accurate and organized digital records of advertising and design projects, archives and assists with troubleshooting.
5. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform this job.
Education:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field preferred. Cultural/Arts education preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years professional experience in graphic design, advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations, or a closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of graphic design including four-color process, electronic pre-press, print production, and design for digital.
Knowledge of current design software including Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to provide creative expertise in the field of graphic design and branding.
Ability to write and edit copy for print and digital mediums.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relationships.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work in a team setting.
