Digital Content Producer

Digital Content Producer


Position Summary:
This full time, non-exempt position will capture, edit, manage, and produce myriad content types across the company’s various digital channels. Utilizing a range of technology platforms, tell compelling stories and engage Playwrights Horizons’ audiences.

Organizational Summary:
Playwrights Horizons is a writer's theater dedicated to the support and development of contemporary U.S. playwrights, composers and lyricists, and to the production of their new work.

Reports to:
Director of Digital Content

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with the Director of Digital Content to produce new digital content with an eye to further the art form, enhance our audience’s interaction with our work, and further grow the theater’s engaged online audience;
  • Lead selected projects through any/all phases of production including creative development, pre-production, production/shooting, post-production, finishing/delivery, and internal approval/deployment, keeping relevant stakeholders informed and updated;
  • Capture original content as needed, covering events, capturing behind-the-scenes material, producing interviews, etc.;
  • Execute/edit a variety of digital content and programs, including long- and short-form video, unscripted and scripted podcasts, livestreams and digital events, as well as other emerging technologies and platforms;
  • Generate storyboards, creative briefs, and production timelines during project development phases; maintain buy-in of various stakeholders throughout process, as well as an “eye on the prize” adherence to and advocacy for mission-centered project goals;
  • Attend performances, on-site meetings, and other company functions as assigned; occasional evening availability is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of media production experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of video shooting and post-production including camera/audio operation, lighting, and location management.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Must have knowledge of the latest production equipment (cameras, digital/tape workflows, lighting, and editorial).
  • Knowledge of ProTools a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects at a time.
  • High storytelling and design standards and a demonstrated ability to tell compelling visual stories.
