Fall 2021 Internship - Resource Development/Fundraising

Summary
The Resource Development team (RD) seeks an intern interested in learning how revenue raised through partners and donors fits into the larger context of Save the Children’s fundraising and implementation. The intern will provide a range of research, writing, information management, and administrative support to our dynamic fundraising teams. In return, the individual will gain experience in fundraising strategy, donor cultivation and stewardship, and will develop a familiarity with current trends in philanthropy, international development, children’s issues, and the day-to-day operations of a large international non-governmental organization (INGO).

The intern will support projects and research across the three Resource Development teams: Corporate Philanthropy, Individual Philanthropy, and Strategic Foundation Partnerships. By working with all three teams, the incumbent will gain a comprehensive understanding of fundraising through the primary channels of philanthropic support.
 
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
  • Conduct research/landscape analyses and present findings to the team(s) on philanthropic trends and priorities including (but not limited to) gender equity, racial equity, climate change, immunization, COVID-19, and US programming (especially food insecurity).
  • Research alignment with existing and potential foundation donors, corporate partners and individual donors.
  • Support for virtual events, such as donor meetings, calls and/or roundtables.
  • Support and creative input for social media, marketing strategy and/or campaigns.
  • Attend department, division and all-staff meetings, and participate as appropriate.
  • Other special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be an actively enrolled undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate student or have graduated within 6 months of start date
  • Possess strong written skills, solid interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Professional proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Professional proficiency with written and verbal communications in English
