Manager of Foundation & Corporate Relations

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manager of Foundation & Corporate Relations is responsible for supporting all aspects of Gads Hill Center’s solicitation of philanthropic support from corporations, foundations, and other sources, including supporting government grant procurement, as needed. Along with the Director of Development and Communications and Grant Writer, this individual will design and implement a solicitation strategy that includes prospect identification, cultivation, proposal writing, and stewardship. The Manager of Foundation & Corporate Relations must have excellent communication and presentation skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence, innovation, teamwork, and sustainable growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with the Director of Development & Communications to develop strategies and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for corporate and foundation giving that includes prospect identification, cultivation, proposal writing and development, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Achieves annual fund-raising goals for corporate, foundation, and other institutional giving and supports the pursuit of government grants as a team effort.
  • Conducts a full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals and reports.
  • Maintains professional relationships with corporate and foundation program officers.
  • Maintains grant tracking tools and software which supports the prospecting, portfolio management, and grant lifecycle process.
  • Prepares for and conducts site visits with funders in conjunction with Leadership
  • Creates tools and documentation to assist Leadership in understanding new opportunities, profiles of potential funders, and ways to leverage existing connections to funders and donors
  • Works closely with the Grant Writer and program staff to conceptualize, write and/or edit requests for funding, review program evaluation data, and carry out the documentation required for grant submissions and reports.
  • Reviews all proposal budgets with CFO and provides financial tracking of grants to funding sources.
  • Maintains an understanding on issues and trends in communities we serve.
  • Researches and writes corporate sponsorship packages for special events.
  • Assists with the development of the annual report and other writing projects, as assigned.
  • Represents Gads Hill Center in internal and external meetings with various stakeholders.

In addition, all Gads Hill Center employees are responsible for the following:

  1. Participating in agency outreach and recruitment events, including evenings and weekends.
  2. Participating in supervision meetings and workshops within the agency and outside (if applicable).
  3. Participating in civic engagement activities that advance the mission of Gads Hill Center.
  4. Performing other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university required, preferably in English, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years in development, primarily in grant writing
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Track record of exhibiting strong initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Highly organized and exceptional attention to details and deadlines.
  • Excellent computer fluency, effectively utilize Microsoft Office
  • Experience using a donor or grant management software
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and child abuse/neglect registry check.
