MARKETING INTERN

HOURS: 15 hrs/wk
LOCATION: Longwood and/or remote
REPORTS TO: Marketing Manager
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Internship
AREAS OF INTEREST: Marketing, Donor Engagement, Creative Writing, Research, Social Media, Branding, Communications, Public Relations, Content Strategy


POSITION SUMMARY

As USH”s Marketing Intern, you will have the opportunity to see first hand how our organization positions itself to our audience. Day to day, you will assist with brainstorming content with a specific focus around donor development and impact-based storytelling for our online platforms and connect us to a wider audience and customer base. You will be responsible for analyzing analytics to identify successful campaign trends.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the development of communications and marketing strategy 
  • Content strategy
  • Public relations
  • Digital marketing ideas/concepts
  • Social media trends, top stories, etc.
  • Generate content with a Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) focus
  • Analyze data from multiple sources
  • Research articles, polls, surveys
  • Write compelling stories that highlight data
  • Assist with creating performance reports
  • Monitor various social media platforms
  • Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
  • Analyze analytics to gauge the success of campaigns
  • Identify ways to improve customer experience on social platforms

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • YOU’VE GOT A WAY WITH WORDS: Excellent written communications skills
  • YOU LIKE TO DIG DEEP: Comprehensive research & analytical skills
  • YOU’VE BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK: You can provide samples of your writing, including blogs, social media, and news articles. (Required)  
  • YOU DON’T MISS A BEAT: Extremely attentive to detail, accurate, and thorough
  • YOU LIGHT UP A ROOM: Enthusiastic, great interpersonal skills, & a can-do attitude
  • YOU’RE A PUZZLE MASTER: Strength in multitasking and organizing many moving parts


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS

  • Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction)
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
  • Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid)
  • Grabbing, sitting, holding, writing, typing
  • Ability to operate a computer and other technology-based tools
