Public Relations Internship

The PR Intern is the first level role in Public Relations at Laughlin Constable. PR Interns provide support to the public relations team, account executives and client services managers. They assist in the day-to-day administration of strategic communications, public relations and publicity initiatives to serve agency clients. This includes maintaining a high level of awareness and confidentiality with client activities, providing detail-oriented project management, and carrying out professional written and verbal communication with team members and key client contacts as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assisting in the coordinating and executing of PR campaigns
  • Concepting and drafting media materials
  • Conducting media and social media monitoring and reporting utilizing numerous industry platforms
  • Researching media and influencer targets and developing and updating those lists using industry platforms
  • Working closely with team members to keep account activity on track and moving forward
  • Participating in PR planning and brainstorm sessions
  • Flexibility and availability in schedule to accommodate client and special event activations, media events and community events in which the agency is involved

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Near completion or a Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Relevant area of study may include: Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English,
  • Public Policy, Political Science, Liberal Arts or similar
  • Prior internships, volunteer roles or project work related to media, PR, promotions
  • and/or public affairs
