Treatments Intern

Partizan Entertainment is looking for a part-time treatment design intern in our commercial department.

The internship is unpaid, entry level for current college student, for college credit, to be held remotely / working from home. Part time (3 days a week)

The position is directly assisting the in-house visual coordinator / lead treatment designer, whose role includes handling all director’s treatments for the Partizan LA office. The position offers a great learning experience and opportunity to dive head first into the art of pitching decks.

What are treatments?
treatment is a director’s creative vision. And in the commercial production company pitching world, the treatment is what lands a director (and the production company) a job. It arranges the director’s interpretation of the idea, visually and through words, on “paper.” Although we’re not using actual paper, much at all anymore. We’re grabbing stills and gifs and clips from spots, movies and tv shows. Assembling animated mood boards and mood films. And presenting it all using interactive layout software like keynote, google slides, or indesign (99% indesign nowadays).

As the treatment intern - your job will be to assist the visual coordinator in bringing to life these treatment for Partizan's directors. You’ll learn first hand how that is done. Daily tasks include:
- Assisting with visual research
- Managing and organizing our visual archive
- Helping with layout, design, and revisions
- Proofreading and version control
- Some book-keeping

You should be:
  • A visual creative type (perhaps studying directing, cinematography, graphic design, communications)
  • Tech savvy and well organized - know how to use a Mac
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe software. 90% of treatment layout work is done in InDesign. Note: It’s not expected that you come to the position already fluent in InDesign, but that you’re pretty good with comparable software and can be quick to learn (good at googling yourself out of a software problem). Please be sure ti list some software you’re competent with in your resume.
Some perks include:
Opportunity to get experience working directly with our directors.
Flexible scheduling, work from home.
You’ll be able to participate in daily meetings with the commercials department and get to see all the inside workings.
You’ll interact with other interns. We host a speaker series (a bit different every semester) where Partizan directors, producers, and industry people hold virtual talks with Q&A for our interns.
There are possibilities of going on set (unrelated to the internship tasks) depending on your location at times of shoots.
