Guest Services Representative

The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions. The Museum is renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections, which serve as a field guide to the entire planet and present a panorama of the world's cultures. The AMNH is seeking full and part-time customer service superstars to provide exemplary service to guests. Guest Services Representatives are responsible for representing the Museum to the public through direct interaction and communication with Museum visitors and members.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Greet members and visitors and check for timed entry reservations upon their arrival. For visitors transacting on site, process reservations and sell pay as you wish admission to regional visitors following all outlined protocols and proccess combination tickets to the available special exhibitions, and theaters when operable.
• Process vouchers and passes in Tessitura.
• Process all member transactions. Identify upsell opportunities and process new and renew members in the Tessitura ticketing system. Track new membership sales, complete appropriate forms and CSI's in Tessitura for back of house reporting and customer resolution.
• Encourage current members who contribute to increase and upgrade their annual gift. Update member contact information in Tessitura as appropriate.
• Adjust school and tour group orders and enter or update reservations.
• Provide general information on all special exhibitions and attractions. Scan tickets and sell upgrade tickets at the entrance of all special exhibitions.
• Facilitate the operation of Lefrak Theater, including providing direction on seating and the distributing, and sanitizing of 3D glasses.
• Greeting Museum visitors at the Planetarium Space Show, scanning tickets, operating the Planetarium elevators, facilitate visitor entry into the Planetarium from Preshow area and usher inside the theater. Facilitate the Planetarium show operation from start to finish by managing space show console.
• Greet and facilitate the safe entry of school and tour groups. Collect school group lunches in the school reception area and transport to the student lunchroom area. Coordinate the lunchroom area; facilitate seating of groups and distribution of lunches.
• Maintain the operation of the Museum's coatrooms which includes hanging of coats, hats, storing small bags and operating the point-of-sale.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior cash handling experience.
• Previous experience working in high volume environments.
• Previous work in customer focused and service related industries.
• Must be reliable, a team player, and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic and busy work environment.
• Must agree to follow and promote all health and safety procedures as detailed by the Museum.
