Artistic Management Intern

Deeply Rooted Dance Theater seeks enthusiastic, hardworking undergraduate and graduate students for Winter/Spring internships. DRDT interns collaborate with the Artistic team and Administrative staff on multiple projects throughout the year, working in operations, development, marketing, programs and business management as integral members of our staff. Interns will gain a well-rounded understanding of the inner workings of a non-profit arts organization while learning and working in a fast-paced but nurturing environment. This is a great opportunity for any young professional seeking to both apply their academic skills and gain experience in arts administration.
Stipends are available. Internships may develop into full or part-time work with the company.

Description

The Artistic Assistant Intern will provide administrative support for the Artistic Director of Deeply Rooted Dance Theater.

Duties

  • Making travel arrangements
  • Maintaining and updating personal schedules
  • Drafting emails and documents to support Artistic flow of systems and communications 
  • Maintain and update calendars to keep Artistic Director abreast of deadlines and events as needed
  • Maintain and facilitate the flow of communication between DRDT Office and Senior Staff as needed
  • Attend and schedule meetings with and for Artistic Director as needed
  • Marketing experience (plus) 

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Works well in a group setting and Works efficiently on their own
  • Detail-oriented and Organized
  • Has a flexible schedule

Hours and Duration

  • Wednesday, June 1 to Wednesday, August 31, 2022
  • 10 - 15 hours a week
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends 
  • Staff meeting: Wednesday, 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
  • Artistic team meeting: 7:30 pm - 9 pm
  • Production Meeting: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
