About us:
Incendiary Balloons is a soon to be launched BIPOC and Gen-Z owned start-up media company and news publication that specializes in telling stories and reporting on overlooked populations across the world. Here at Incendiary Balloons we tell stories through various mediums like documentary film, print and digital. We aim to give a microphone to people who have been made voiceless within the space of media and entertainment, and we do so in a unique way. We leave no stone unturned and cover everything from social justice to environmental issues, politics, technology, fashion, beauty, entertainment and much more. Redefining media one project at a time.
Job Responsibilities:
If you are a true creative who thinks outside of the box, this position is for you. We are looking for someone with an innovative, avant-garde, non-conventional mindset and a unique eye for capturing breathtaking artistic cinematic visuals to fill our cinematography freelance position.
This position is a wonderful way to get hands-on experience, take your craft to the next level, gain exposure within your field, and build up an extensive portfolio.
Qualifications:
-Despite this position being listed as based in Los Angeles, this is a traveling position. We will be traveling internationally and nationally (travel expenses will be accomodated for.) Interested candidates must be able and available to travel both internationally and nationally in order to film.
-If you are a true creative who thinks outside of the box, this position is for you. We are looking for someone with an innovative, avant-garde, non-conventional mindset and a unique eye for capturing breathtaking artistic, cinematic, and story-book-like visuals.
-Familiarity with setting up and capturing unique angles and camera angles ( Dutch Angle shots, worm angle shots, Cowboy Shot, negative space, fallen camera angle, etc ). A candidate who is resourceful and can capture creative shots using unique methods and resourceful set-up techniques.
-Familiarity and interest in recreating unique in-camera video motion effects used by greats such as Wes Anderson (use of flat space camera moves, symmetrical compositions, knolling, snap-zooms, slow-motion walking shots, working with lighting, using household items to create in-cam effects, etc).
-Familiarity or interest in shooting with various types of gear (rigs, 3D cameras, drones etc).
-This position is for someone who is interested in growing as a long term member with a startup team.
-A candidate who can work flexible hours, with the ability to travel nationally and internationally.
-This position is open to everyone, including international students!
