Fine Art Sales Assistant

Heather James Fine Art is hiring for the role of Fine Art Assistant. 
The Fine Art Assistant will partner with a current consultant to achieve and exceed sales goal targets while providing a professional and exceptional client experience.
The desired candidate must have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once, strong attention to detail, and the ability to positively and confidently communicate with colleagues, clients, and vendors. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment with a flexible and cooperative attitude. Must be able to handle a high level of volume and complexity in a time-sensitive environment. 
The job is remote, with opportunities for travel. 
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Proficient and accurate use of CRM 
  • Work closely and effectively with the Fine Art Consultant
  • Execute electronic documents including transactions, invoices and consignment agreements.
  • Proactively organize daily, weekly and monthly tasks
  • Remain current on client, industry, and competitor news 
  • Use specialty resources to further research contacts and exhibitions
  • Assist with special projects, as needed, on behalf of gallery network 
  • Be a positive role model, representing the brand appropriately at all times
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Mac OS, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a must. 
  • Strong communication skills; effectively interact and gain confidence of colleagues, clients, and vendors. 
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized. 
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure in fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. 
  • Work well independently and as a part of a team, with a “no task is too small” attitude. 
  • Prior experience within art market, gallery, auction house, or museum is desired but not required
Compensation:
  • Commensurate with experience 
  • Base plus individual commission and bonus opportunities
