News pitch & news release writer: Films

Independent Film Publicity agency working remotely is looking for freelance writers who enjoy crafting news releases and media pitches for all platforms (web, print, TV, radio/podcast) in order to gain national media attention to pay attention and report on the subject matter in a film or to help book interest in spokesperson from a movie. We are also looking for digital marketing assistance to help launch new indie releases on streaming channels nationwide.

Some films are documentaries, dramas, indie comedies, etc. Researching for key media contacts, sending out trailers, screeners, and follow-up for film reviews are also needed.

Other writing includes indie films from filmmakers from Southeast Asia, the U.S., or Canada and could be of any genre (comedy, horror, drama).

Some films tap on key issues in our country and humanity that bridge people together-so messaging and finding current topics for stories is key. Finding and pulling out the central news angles to get film critics and entertainment writers interested in reviewing the film, and interviewing the director or talent is vital.
