Communications Intern
Day One partners with New York City youth to end dating abuse and intimate partner violence through community education, counseling, legal advocacy, and youth leadership development. We use an empowerment model that invests young people in maintaining safe relationships for themselves and their peers.
Day One is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student, or a community member, to participate in a part-time, Communications internship opportunity from February to May 30, 2023. This position will report to and work closely with the Communications and Development Manager and Associate Director of Development.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Create social media calendar
- Create content for each week using canva or adobe photoshop
- Write blogs on various topics for our website
- Help in adding new content to the new website
- Provide administrative support and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Superior organizational and communication skills
● Excellent written and verbal skills
● Background in Women’s rights, Youth, and interest in social justice
● Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to take initiative
● Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, google suite, canva, adobe photoshop, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Tik Tok, and strong internet skills required
