Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Specialist

About the Job

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the foster parent recruitment plan to attract new foster families for the agency, pro-actively looking for new approaches for recruitment.
  • Assist current foster care licensing staff in each CYFS office with recruitment including responding to inquiries, making follow up contacts, presentations, personal contacts, creates direct mailings and/or other techniques to reach potential foster families.
  • Provide orientations to interested individuals to introduce them to the CYFS strength based, trauma informed and family centered approach to providing foster care and eliminate barriers.
  • Keep statistical data including but not limited to recruitment efforts.
  • Stay abreast of DCFS policies and procedures as well as licensure requirements for foster care homes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively work independently as well as part of the CYFS foster care team.
  • Collaborate with the CYFS Director of Marketing and Development to increase public awareness of the agency.
  • Implement strategies devised by the Director of Marketing and Development on outreach and public awareness via traditional and nontraditional methods including marketing materials, events, mailings, social media and the web page.
  • Represent the agency at external functions as directed by the Director of Marketing and Development and the Director of Licensing and Adoption.
  • Provide community awareness and marketing assistance to branch offices and when needed provide day of oversight.
  • Support execution of all activities related to community awareness communication.
  • Possess excellent communication skills including written skills.
  • Help cultivate and promote desired work culture and agency values.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Service-Related Field, or Marketing (Required)
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing or a social service setting (Preferred)
  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check (Required)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, obtain an insured vehicle, clean driving record, and three years driving record with a valid driver's license
