Child Welfare Site Supervisor

About the Job:

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deliver or oversees development and delivery of foster care services to designated service region. Act as a liaison between upper management and Foster Care staff, solving problems and sharing information as necessary.
  • Evaluate all site-related services to ensure they are meeting long-term objectives of the agency and meeting standards of time and cost efficiencies, as well as sensitivity to the cultural differences in the service population.
  • Stay abreast of agency, state, and federal regulations and requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Supervise assigned staff, assisting them with job-related issues and provides performance feedback on an on-going basis.
  • Schedule, coordinate and/or facilitate regular staff meetings to communicate important issues, policies and changes within the organization.
  • Oversee new and existing service contracts to ensure compliance and that provided services are in-line with contract requirements.
  • Meet with staff as necessary to discuss critical issues, resolve problems and mediate conflicts.
  • Interview and recommend for hire new staff members. Provide field training, perspective, and support to empower staff to deliver quality services. Develop work schedules, performance evaluations, and promotional recommendations for supervised staff.
  • Keep employees informed of policies, procedures and operational changes.
  • As necessary, act as a back-up for supervised staff, stepping in to fulfill essential duties.
  • Prepare necessary reports for decision making and documentation by the agency as well as state and federal agencies.
  • Act as a liaison between The Center for Youth and Family Solutions and other agencies and community organizations, attending meetings and sharing information as needed.
  • Provide input and feedback on issues related to the agency, as a whole, to supervisor.
  • Assess the need for and assures that recruitment activities are occurring.
  • Provide an example of collaboration, professionalism, and productive teamwork.
  • Available to provide supervision after-hours as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Social Work or another acceptable degree approved by DCFS (Required)
  • Two years of full-time experience in the social work setting (Highly Preferred)
  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check (Required)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, obtain an insured vehicle, clean driving record, and three years driving record with a valid driver's license
