Diversity in Entertainment Legal Fellowship- Summer 2023 (Hybrid)

We are Warner Bros. Discovery, a premier global media and entertainment company, offers audiences the world's most differentiated and complete portfolio of content, brands and franchises across television, film, streaming and gaming. The new company combines WarnerMedia’ s premium entertainment, sports and news assets with Discovery's leading non-fiction and international entertainment and sports businesses.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s Legal Department will offer a fellowship opportunity this summer to a law student from a diverse population that has historically been underrepresented in the legal profession.

The Summer 2023 Warner Bros. Discovery Diversity in Entertainment Legal Fellow will work alongside the WBD legal team who play an integral part in all of the content we create, negotiations with external partners and setting the foundation for WBD’s policies and practices on the corporate side of our business.
  • Fellowship Program Dates: June 5, 2023 OR June 12, 2023- August 18, 2023 OR August 25, 2023, about 35-40 hours of work per week
  • Application: 1L and 2L Law Students can submit their resume directly on our careers site
  • Application deadline: Friday, February 28, 2023
  • Interviewing: Interviewing will take place in March
  • Decisions: Decisions made by end of March
 
Program Details:
  • The fellowship will be hybrid during the summer, with the expectation that the fellow comes into our NYC office a few times a week, following guidance from their manager
  • Fellow will be supervised by SVP in Legal
  • Fellow will be compensated at a competitive hourly rate for a corporate legal fellowship. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided. 
  • WBD will also award a $10,000 Stipend to the Fellow
 
The Essentials:
  • Must be a member of a diverse population that historically has been underrepresented in the legal profession
  • Must be a first or second-year law student, in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for the fellowship)
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student
  • Must have a strong college and law school academic performance
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have an interest and/or curiosity in the media industry
  • Must have the legal right to work in the US
