Business Administration Intern (Remote)

About the Role: 

A Business Admin. Intern at Thaddeus will perform administrative, technical, and professional duties. This position requires someone who can function in a fast-paced and enthusiastic environment. Someone who is a self-starter, detail and goal-oriented and can multi-task on a day-to-day basis. The intern will learn to communicate, perform, and collaborate with professionals, clients, and outsourced entities within Thaddeus.

This internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.

Responsibilities: 

  • Answer and make phone calls, respond to questions and concerns of management, staff, and community partners, and send professional written communication
  • Perform a variety of administrative support duties such as conducting research, gathering data, and preparing spread sheets
  • Analyze, generate, and maintain records and other reference material
  • Able to be empathetic, calm, caring, and supportive
  • Work actively in monitoring the Strategy Planning process
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of plans of operations for the different programs and areas
  • Work well with other departments and assist the Operations Manager
  • Help with performance reviews
  • Help identify gaps and trends among the organization and its employees
  • Collect data about the programs and transform it in information and reports

Requirements: 

  • Ability to learn, interpret, explain, and apply strong and effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Able to handle multiple projects, priorities, make recommendations for appropriate action and deadlines daily
  • Able to demonstrate strong and effective organizational and time management skills
  • Assist department employees with assigned tasks
  • Proficient in Word Excel, PowerPoint and strong internet and research skills
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Ability to pass the mandated reporter exam
  • Intern must have the appropriate technology, internet connection, and ability to function in a virtual capacity via Microsoft Teams.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Interns will observe and contribute in business operations and decision-making processes.
  • Interns will learn methods and techniques of research, analysis, reports, and internal business operations.
  • Interns will apply critical thinking and problem-solving methodologies to real-world situations.
  • Interns will learn to build and manage relationships with staff, management and community partners.
  • Intern will learn general knowledge of different aspects of a managerial role.

 Time Commitment: 

  • Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week (10 of those hours need to be between the hours of 9 AM - 6 PM PST to accommodate for the below MANDATORY meetings and additional co-worker collaboration)
  • Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
    • Weekly All Staff Meeting: Mondays 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM PST
    • Weekly Department Meeting: Thursdays 2 PM - 3 PM PST
  • The 6 Month Internship Program is our minimum internship program.
  • The 1 Year Internship Program is where you will receive the most client interaction.
