Internship Overview: The Social Justice Research Intern will contribute significantly to our research projects and digital communication strategies. This role is ideal for students passionate about social justice who wish to enhance their research skills and gain valuable experience in digital advocacy and content management. Interns will report directly to our Research Director and work closely with our communications team.

 

Academic Collaboration and Credit:

 

Rise Against Hate partners with educational institutions to enable students to earn college credit for their internship. We facilitate the necessary documentation and evaluations required for academic credit approval. Interns should coordinate with their school advisors to ensure the internship aligns with their academic requirements and to confirm credit eligibility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed research on assigned social justice topics to support our ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of blog content, social media posts, and website updates to enhance our digital presence.
  • Analyze and summarize research findings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all platforms.
  • Engage in the development and execution of online campaigns aimed at raising awareness and fostering community engagement.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the organization's goals.

 

 

Training and Development: Interns will participate in weekly training sessions to develop skills in nonprofit management, digital marketing, and effective communication, adhering to NACE standards for a high-quality internship experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Flexible start and end dates during the summer.
  • Strong interest in social justice, research, and digital communications.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills. 
  • Able to commit at least 15 hours per week for remote work.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
