Library Associate-Hourly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience working in libraries. Previous experience working with Children/Adults/Teens. Customer Service experience. Previous experience in education, social work, or related fields. Library coursework in pursuit of a MLIS, or MSLIS. NOTE: Physical day to day responsibilities for this title may include the ability to lift and carry library materials. Ability to stand for extended or continuous periods of time. Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with one’s body arms or legs. Ability to climb staircases, ladders and or step stools.

DUTIES: Assisting library users with reference questions. Finding print, electronic, or media resources to meet user’s information needs. Assisting with the maintenance of library collections. Supporting community members and community groups. Helping patrons utilize technology found in the library. Under supervision, developing age/content appropriate programming for the relevant service group. Supporting library programming, outreach, and initiatives. Continuously developing skills through professional development. Performs related duties as assigned
