AmeriCorps is the federal agency that brings people together to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges, through national service and volunteering. AmeriCorps members and volunteers serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities. AmeriCorps helps make service to others a cornerstone of our national culture. We offer individuals and organizations flexible ways to make a local impact through our programs:
AmeriCorps Internships: AmeriCorps offers paid internships to students and recent graduates interested in seeking valuable work experience in government and federal education, policy, and administration. The intern program is intended to create a beneficial relationship and growth opportunity for AmeriCorps, its employees, and collegiate students around the nation. AmeriCorps offers two programs a year (fall and summer) and announces the opportunity via usajobs.gov.
AmeriCorps NCCC: Great for individuals ages 18-26 who are ready to spend a full year traveling the country and completing a series of short-term, hands-on projects in many different fields. You could help build a home for a family in need, repair hiking trails in a national forest, assist communities with disaster preparedness, and more. Serve as an AmeriCorps member or a team leader in NCCC's Traditional Corps or FEMA Corps program. Learn more at americorps.gov/nccc.
AmeriCorps State and National: Choose the best-fit opportunity based on your unique interests. Whether you want to tutor and mentor students, fight climate change, improve health equity, or any other other cause-related project, there is a service opportunity for you in the State & National network.
